Finally finished my (first) commission for a Slytherin House Rulebook. Pictures posted next. The interior is able to house two dvds (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2), has a secret compartment, a back compartment, vials of assorted nasty things, two keys, a journal (guess who that used to belong to), a Slytherin House Pin, and a letter from the newly appointed head of Slytherin House. Bare with me, this entry carries some self pity/loathing. Skip the next paragraph if you dont want to suffer though any whinning. I've been playing Assassin's Creed, switching between that and sewing together some archer's bracers with scrap leather I got from the Michigan Renaissance Festival. While sewing I realized that just about every project I've ever constructed, drawn, sculpted, concieved has been unnervingly sub-par. Why is it that the media adores overusing cliche' phrases every year? "A new year full of hope and possibilities." "A new year with endless potential." What I've noticed is that "hope" doesn't often change the outcome of any uncertain event. "Possibilities" and "potential" are just frilly words that the media uses when they dont want to say the wrong thing. Also, with these statements, are they implying that the previous year held nothing but disappointment, dispair, disillusionment, and regret? The past is the past. Dont dwell on things that can't be changed. Look to the past only so that you can change yourself and the world around you for
